Looking much as it did more than 100 years ago, the Roberts house—a two-story structure nestled among mature trees in what has been called The Enchanted Valley—invites you to slow down, unwind and live much the way folks lived in a quieter, simpler time. Sit on the front porch and listen to the sounds of the nearby Middle Creek, or watch for deer as they come to nibble the flowers around the house. After you have had your morning cup of coffee, hike the two miles of trails that meander through the rich flora and fauna of the Boone County Cliffs State Nature Preserve, located less than a half mile from the Roberts House. ![]() The Thomas Zane Roberts Retreat House has two bedrooms that sleep six each in bunk beds, and a third bedroom with a queen size bed—for a combined capacity of fourteen people—making it ideal for church groups and other small group retreats.
